The CRC/TRR 227 "Ultrafast Spin Dynamics" implements a series of activities to improve the compatibility of scientific career and family as well as the equality of scientists. All activities are planned and implemented in close cooperation with existing initiatives and institutions of Freie Universität Berlin, Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg and with their partners.

The activities can be divided into the following areas:

1. Support of young families and scientists with family commitments including childcare, kidsbox, laptops etc..
2. Training and support of young female researchers such as funding of courses, workshops, individual and group coaching as well as mentoring programs. These offers are planned and organized together with our iRTG Gender & Diversity Consultant Dr.ⁱⁿ Sarah Huch.
3. Financial support of activities to increase the awareness on the gender imbalance in Physics and STEM fields (e.g. Lecture series "Women and career in natural sciences - Insights behind the CV" @ MLU).
4. Participation in the MINToring program and Girls' Day of Freie Universität Berlin as well as visits of kindergarten and school groups.
