TRR 227 PIs T. Kampfrath, S. Sharma and M. Weinelt - Guest Editors of APL Special Topic
AIP journal Applied Physics Letters announces upcoming Special Topic issue on "Ultrafast and Terahertz Spintronics".
News from May 14, 2021
Together with colleagues, Tobias Kampfrath (TRR227 projects A05, B02), Sangeeta Sharma (TRR227 project A04) and Martin Weinelt (TRR227 project A01) serve as Guest Editors of the APL Special Topic "Ultrafast and Terahertz Spintronics".
Submission deadline of contributions is October 31, 2021.
"Spin-based electronics (spintronics) aims at extending electronic functionalities, which rely on the electron charge as information carrier, by the spin of the electron. Spintronics has large application potential in information storage and processing, but also in areas such as sensing and photonics. To make spintronic operations competitive and compatible with other information carriers like photons and electrons, their speed needs to be pushed to femtosecond time scales and, thus, terahertz frequencies.

This APL Special Topic is dedicated to providing a platform for the newest developments and future trends in the very active, dynamic, and exciting research field of ultrafast spintronics."
