Max Born Prize and Medal 2024 for Ingrid Mertig (MLU Halle-Wittenberg)
The Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (DPG) and the Insitute of Physics (IOP) announced the awardee of the Max Born Prize and Medal for the year 2024.
News from Nov 16, 2023
Prof. Dr. Ingrid Mertig, PI of TRR227 project B04, has been awarded with the Max Born Prize 2024 ...
"für ihre herausragenden Beiträge auf dem Gebiet der Spintronik. Hervorzuheben sind ihre bahnbrechenden Arbeiten zur Kombination von ab initio-Elektronenstrukturtheorie mit der Analyse von spin- und magnetisierungsabhängigen Transporteigenschaften. ---
for her outstanding contributions to the field of spintronics made possible by her pioneering work combining ab initio electronic structure theory with the analysis of spin- and magnetization-dependent transport properties."
Congratulations to Ingrid !
The Max Born Prize is awarded jointly by the British IOP and the DPG for particularly valuable and topical scientific contributions to physics in memory of Max Born's work in Great Britain and Germany. It is awarded annually alternately to a physicist who lives and works in Germany or Great Britain.
